Echinacea has been a very popular herb in the West. It is a folk remedy to help build the immune system because it is said to increase white blood cell count, and clear out the lymphatic system. Echinacea is thought to help inhibit some bacteria’s ability to proliferate in the body. It has been used for fighting acute inflammations, including cases where there is pus formation. The root of this species is thought to be more helpful in topical applications on wounds, bites, and stings.
