Sage is said to have antimicrobial properties making it useful for topical application on wounds, and for colds and flus. Traditionally, it has been used to decrease fluid secretions, excessive perspiration, runny noses from allergies and illnesses, night sweats, and even decrease milk in nursing mothers.
