Hot and drying.  Antiseptic, antispasmodic, calmative, carminative, diaphoretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, stimulant, stomachic and tonic.  

A commonly used spice, oregano may have the added benefit of stimulating digestion and helping with indigestion. Traditionally, it has also been used as an antimicrobial, especially in the case of respiratory issues from colds and flus.
