Mucilaginous, bitter and slightly warming. Demulcent, anti-inflammatory, diuretic and galactagogue.  
Traditionally fenugreek has been used for lung complaints, working as both an expectorant and to soothe the lungs. In the past, it has been used to help with ulcers and eliminate excess mucus from the digestive tract. Fenugreek is said to help balance blood sugar, aiding in diabetes. Fenugreek has been used to increase mother’s milk. Externally, it seems to soothe irritated skin conditions.
