Drying and slightly warming.  Lymphagogue, antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, antiparasitic and anti-inflammatory. 

Pau d’Arco has been used to help fight various fungal infections such as Candida, as well as bacterial infections internally and externally. It has traditionally been used to treat lymphatic congestion and for increasing immune function. 

Note: for some people the anticoagulant properties can cause nose bleeds.
