Spicy and warm. Carminative, astringent, stomachic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, expectorant, and nervine.
Another fall favorite that can add a cozy, warming feeling to a dish. Traditionally, it has been used to improve digestion, increase appetite, lessen flatulence, and help with colic. Other uses have included treating diarrhea, and helping with insomnia.
