Milk thistle has been popularly associated with the liver, and rightfully so. It is said to contain compounds that might help protect the liver from damage, and has been used to restore the liver from past alcohol and drug consumption, hepatitis, and jaundice. It is said to protect the liver for harsh chemicals, supposedly even from poisons such as in amanita mushrooms.
Note: milk thistle can amplify some pharmaceuticals and negate others.
