Horsetail is said to be high in minerals, especially silica and selenium. It has been often added to calcium, bone healing, skin and nail blends for this reason. It has been used in the past to help slow bleeding. Horsetail seems to be useful for urinary system upsets, and can help assist in electrolyte balance.
